My quest for peace is surely useless
But no one can tell me or show me
The scars of earth, the cries of men
Repeat their tale again, and again
The ones who dream, find their voices drown, drown

While tyrants burn the world to the ground
The rivers bleed, the skies turn gray
While despots tear the world apart
The winds grow cold, the shadows start
The ones who dream, their silent warnings fade away

I long to express my quest for peace

It’s quite utopian, quite utopian
But only dreamers can forge the change in this world
But only dreamers can bring new light to the storm
We need dreamers, many more dreamers, many more

A chosen few with hearts of stone
Turn dreams to dust, leave hope alone
A million voices, strong and clear
Could silence the drums of war

I long to express my quest for peace
